Engineering is broken down into several different areas. From electronics to medicine, engineers are needed throughout many organizations and companies. In the Engineering program here at 黑料视频, you will gain a great foundation in science, math and engineering that will prepare you for a career as an engineer.

Career Options

Graduates from the Engineering program will be prepared to complete their four-year degree in a variety of engineering disciplines. From electrical engineering to biomedical engineering, there are many different fields that this degree program will help prepare you for.

TRANSFER AS A JUNIOR

Graduates of the Associate of Science in Engineering degree programs have the foundation needed to transfer to earn a bachelor鈥檚 degree if desired.

With an Associate of Science in Engineering, graduates are prepared to transfer to a four-year engineering program to earn their bachelor's degree.

    Transfer as a Junior

    Graduates of the AS in Engineering can also choose to transfer to a four-year college or university where they can earn a bachelor鈥檚 degree. The AS in Engineering is designated as a TSAP program (which stands for 鈥淭ransfer Single Articulation Pathway鈥), which enables students to transfer to Indiana public four-year institutions with automatic junior status. You can save upward of $10,000 by completing your first two years at 黑料视频 and then transferring to a four-year college. Talk to our transfer advocates for information about continuing your education after completing your degree at 黑料视频.

Prerequisite Courses for Engineering

Students coming to 黑料视频 with their high school diploma or equivalent can start straight into the degree program without completing any prerequisite courses as long as they are considered college ready by the听knowledge assessment.

No Expiration of Credits

There is no expiration date for course credits that were earned in previous years from 黑料视频.

Transfer Credit for Prerequisite Courses

Prerequisite courses completed at colleges other than 黑料视频 will only be considered for general education selection points if transfer credit has been awarded and courses appear on the 黑料视频 transcript prior to the application deadline.

TR grades are not recognized by the online application. It is the applicant鈥檚 responsibility to ensure that transfer credit has been awarded and that TR grades are updated to transfer letter grades (TA, TB, TC) on their 黑料视频 transcript.

It is recommended that college transcripts be submitted to the Registrar鈥檚 office for evaluation and transfer credit at least 4 weeks prior to the program application deadline to ensure adequate time for processing.

Class Formats

Due to the hands-on nature of the engineering profession, all 黑料视频 engineering courses are taught in a traditional, in-person format.

Applying to 黑料视频 is Free & Easy

The 黑料视频 application is free and easy鈥攜ou don鈥檛 need a certain test score, GPA, or class rank to get started at 黑料视频. Applying takes about 10-15 minutes and can be completed entirely online.

No Application Deadlines

黑料视频 does not have a deadline for admission. Our 8-week class sessions start throughout the year鈥攊n January, March, June, August, and October鈥攁nd there is no hard deadline for applying for any of the start dates. It's important, though, to apply early enough that you'll be able to complete all the degree planning, financial aid, and registration activities that need to happen before your first day. We recommend you apply about one month before you intend to start classes.听See upcoming start dates

Steps to Apply

(1) Apply to 黑料视频

If you鈥檝e never applied to 黑料视频 before (or if it鈥檚 been听two years since you last attended classes here), your first step is to apply to 黑料视频. You can apply online or in person. To apply in person, reach out to听your local admissions team听and arrange a meeting. Or, stop by any campus on any Tuesday for听Tuesdays@TheTech听to receive personal assistance with applying and registering for classes.

(2) Submit Assessment Documents

After you submit your application, you'll be asked to upload documentation鈥攕uch as SAT/ACT/PSAT scores or high school and college transcripts鈥攖hat can assess your readiness for college-level coursework and help us make sure you are taking classes that are the right fit for you. If you don't have your scores or transcripts at your fingertips, don鈥檛 worry. Go ahead and submit your application. You can go back to at any time until the end of the term for which you applied.

(3) Look for a Confirmation Email

Once your application is processed, you will receive a confirmation email at the email address provided on your application. Typically the email will arrive within 1-2 business days of submission, but during peak processing periods (April-June) could take up to 5-10 business days.

The email will contain instructions on how to register for classes, as well as important information regarding your 黑料视频 student portal (), tuition, payment options, and more.

(4) Create an Account in MyIvy

MyIvy is 黑料视频's online student portal. Students use MyIvy to check e-mail, register for classes, pay tuition, manage financial aid, get the latest news and announcements, and much more. MyIvy also contains "QuickLinks" to the 黑料视频 websites and online tools you will use most often. Learn more about MyIvy

(5) Course Placement

Before you can register for classes you will need to submit documentation or complete an assessment test. Your test scores can help us determine the best English and math starting classes for you.听See the Test Score Course Placement Chart

If you submitted assessment documentation during the application process, your advisor will likely be able to work with those documents to determine course placement and you won't need to take any further steps. If you don't have any of those documents or the scores don't meet minimum thresholds, don鈥檛 worry! Your advisor will direct you to complete our free Knowledge Assessment听to help develop your customized learning path to better prepare you for courses.听

(6) Register for Classes

Once you have completed the steps above, you may register for classes. 黑料视频 students register for courses using the Schedule Builder tool which can be accessed within听. If you are a new, first-time 黑料视频 student, we recommend that you meet with听your advisor听who will help you develop your Academic Completion Plan and help you sign up for courses that are the best fit for you.

(7) Pay Your Tuition

After registering for your courses, your bill can be viewed in your听听account > Student Dashboard- > View/Pay Balance. Payments can also be made in your听听account. This comprehensives two-year program prepares students for entrance into professional engineering schools. It is designed to extend the scope of student undergraduate education by avoiding premature specialization.   • Currently investigating the kinetics of nanoparticle dissolution at the meso-continuum level using the phase field method.

Professor Majid Mohseni is the Department Chair at 黑料视频 Valparaiso. He holds an M.S. in Petroleum Engineering. Professor Mohseni spent four years working in the Gulf of Mexico as a Production Engineer for enhanced oil recovery. There, he was responsible for the design of fracturing and secondary recovery.

He also served as Assistant Dean for four years and worked as a Department Chair for Design and Drafting, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, Engineering, and Energy Technology for over 16 years. Professor Mohseni loves to work with students and witness their success stories after their college lives. He's helped thousands of students in different fields accomplish their goals, and has stayed in touch with many of them. Above all, Professor Mohseni is deeply passionate about the renewable industry and works hard to grow student interest in the field.
