  • You must run your degree audit and speak with your advisor to ensure you are on track to graduate. For assistance running your audit, attend a virtual Zoom room open session or email听indy-graduation@ivytech.edu.听

  • Each student entering their final semester must apply to graduate in听. Also, submitting your application will ensure your name is included in the virtual ceremony.

    Follow the instructions on the screen to select your curriculum, name to appear on the diploma, mailing address, and whether you will be attending the commencement ceremony.

  • Where to Order:

    You must have a cap and gown as well as a tassel in order to participate in the ceremony. Students who do not have a cap and gown will not be permitted to participate, so pay close attention to the ordering deadlines. If you require assistance in acquiring your cap and gown, please fill out this .

    CAP & GOWN DEADLINES:

    Deadline: April 7

    The deadline to order your Cap and Gown online is Monday, April 7, 2025. Orders placed after this date may incur additional fees.

    *Your cap and gown will be shipped to your home address within two (2) weeks.

    Cap Decorating Rules

    Please take into consideration the following rules when decorating your cap for the commencement ceremony.

    Failure to follow these rules will result in the removal of the cap at the ceremony.

    Graduates WILL NOT be allowed to participate in the ceremony without a cap and gown.

    • Only the flat, top area of the mortar board may be decorated.
      • There may be nothing hanging down from any of the sides of the cap.
    • Decorations must be flat on the surface of the cap.
      • 3-D creations may be no higher than 1鈥.
    • The tassel must be able to be moved from one side to the other, as dictated during the ceremony.
    • Graduation caps will be reviewed and approved in advance of the ceremony.

    UNACCEPTABLE decorations:

    鈥 Contain any advertisement, symbols, abbreviations, initials, words, slogans, patches, or pictures that:

    Refer to drugs or controlled substances, tobacco, alcohol, or weapons or be of a sexual nature

    and/or denotes an affiliation with gangs which advocate drug use, violence, illegal activity, or

    disruptive behavior which is detrimental to the safety and welfare of other graduates, staff,

    faculty and/or guests.

    鈥 Be obscene, profane, vulgar, or lewd.

    鈥 Include numbers other than the graduation year.

    鈥 Threaten the safety and welfare of any person.

    ACCEPTABLE decorations:

    鈥 Thank a parent, grandparent, friend or instructor.

    鈥 Recognize the college, school, program or career.

    鈥 The graduation year.

    鈥 The branch of the military the graduate is affiliated with.

    鈥 The home country鈥檚 flag of the graduate.

  • Nursing Pinning Ceremony

    Date: Thursday, May 1, 2025

    Where: 黑料视频 Conference Center & Culinary Institute, 2820 N. Meridian Street, The Quads (rooms 118-121), Indianapolis, IN 46208

    Time: Student check-in begins at 8:00 a.m., and the ceremony begins at 9:00 a.m.

    Parking: The Conference Center lot and the 黑料视频 parking garage are FREE.

    Guest tickets (4) pickup: Monday, April 21 - Nursing Office (9301 E. 59th St., Room F217, Indianapolis, IN 46216) during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

    Other important details:

    • What are grads supposed to wear?
      • Grads will wear their own appropriate, professional business attire.
    • Are kids allowed?
      • Yes children are allowed, but they do require tickets (no matter age) due to the room's fire capacity restrictions.
    • Seating is on a general admission/first-come, first-seated basis.

  • Grad Fair/ Guest Ticket Distribution

    Congratulations once again on reaching this milestone on your journey towards graduation and Commencement on Thursday, May 1!

    Below are the dates and times for guest ticket distribution. Students who are walking will NOT need a ticket.听

    Please bring your ID and C# for pick-up.听听

    *Tickets will be secured through RSVPing yes to walk at commencement through the Tassel website.听

    Grad Fair:

    A fun-filled day awaits you at the Grad Fair! Plus, guest tickets will be distributed for all students registered on Tassel/RSVP'd yes to participating in the Commencement ceremony. You must bring a student ID, driver鈥檚 license, or state ID to pick up guest tickets (max of 4). 听Only the student can pick up their four (4) guest tickets.听The student walking will not need a ticket.

    • Parking is complimentary, and you and your guests will not need a pass.
    • Graduates and their guests should听enter through Parking Gate 1 or 6 (see attached听map) which will direct you to the infield听parking area.听
    • You听will听walk through the tunnel from there to Champions Hall (graduates) and the Coliseum (guests).

    Graduate Check-in

    • Graduates can arrive as early as noon, but NO LATER than 1:00 p.m.; DOORS WILL BE LOCKED AT 1:45 p.m.
    • Proceed to Champions Hall, where you will enter through security and be assisted with check-in by our registration staff.
    • At check-in, you will receive your name card for the reading of your name during the ceremony. That card helps us get you lined up for commencement by school/program.听
    • Honor cords for any of the honor designations will be given to you at check-in.

    Processional Line-Up:

    • This will begin at 1:00 p.m.听Once you are lined up, we will ask you听to remain in line until we start our procession听into the Coliseum.听
    • There will be two lines processing at the same time. Please stay alert and follow directions provided by event marshals.
    • Graduates will go up听on听stage听one row听at a听time.听
    • You will hand your card听to a designated event ambassador as听you approach the听stage.
    • When your听name is听read,听you will proceed across the stage toward the听Chancellor.
    • You听will shake with听your right hand and hold听your diploma听cover with your left hand.听
    • There听will be photos taken听on stage and听off stage.听
    • Once finished with the posed, post-stage photo taking, you will return to the row and seat you were previously in.

    Ceremony Details

    • The ceremony will last approximately three (3) hours.
  • Dr. Sue Ellspermann

    Dr. Sue Ellspermann has served as President of 黑料视频 of Indiana since 2016. She is the ninth individual to hold the position and the first female president of the College.

    Ellspermann鈥檚 focus has been to align 黑料视频's programs and credentials to meet industry needs and ensure access, quality, and affordability to all Hoosiers. Under her leadership, 黑料视频 launched the first Industry 4.0 associate degree and Ivy+ Career Link, a transformative approach to career development services. Ellspermann led the development of 黑料视频鈥檚 new strategic plan, Higher Education at the Speed of Life, which focuses on scale, innovation, and agility to ensure student success and meet Indiana鈥檚 talent upskilling needs.

    Prior to leading 黑料视频, Ellspermann served as Indiana鈥檚 50th Lieutenant Governor. In this capacity, she served as President of the Senate and Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. She also oversaw six state agencies. Ellspermann co-chaired the Blue Ribbon Panel on Transportation Infrastructure and led trade missions to Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and China.

    Ellspermann represented District 74 in rural southwest Indiana in the state House of Representatives from 2010 to 2012. From 2006 to 2012, Ellspermann served as the founding Director of the Center of Applied Research and Economic Development at the University of Southern Indiana (USI).

    Ellspermann鈥檚 educational and workforce development experience is extensive. As Lieutenant Governor, she served as vice chair of the Indiana Career Council, tasked to align Indiana鈥檚 education and workforce development system to meet employer needs. She also served on the Indiana State Workforce Investment Board. As a legislator, Ellspermann served on Commerce and Labor committees and co-authored Right-to-Work legislation that has since attracted robust economic development to Indiana. In 2016, Ellspermann participated in the Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows, a program that convenes reform-oriented state leaders to study best practices and policy in education and workforce.

    During the 20 years prior to her tenure at USI, Ellspermann owned and operated an independent consulting firm licensed in the training and facilitation of Simplex Creative Problem Solving. Early in her career, she held operations and engineering positions at Frito-Lay, Michelin Tire Corporation, and General Motors.

    Ellspermann holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of Louisville in Industrial Engineering and a B.S. from Purdue University in Industrial Engineering. Her dissertation was recognized as a Top 50 management research article in 2007 by Emerald Management Review.

    Ellspermann chairs the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership Board of Directors and serves on the Governor鈥檚 Workforce Cabinet, Indiana Chamber, Indy Chamber, Applied Research Institute, Strada Education Foundation, and Center for Leadership Development boards. Her corporate board service includes OneAmerica, German American Bancorp, and OFS.

    She and her husband Jim Mehling have a blended family of four daughters, three sons-in-law, six grandsons, and three granddaughters.

    Early Childhood Education, School of Science, Arts, & Education

    Luke Miller - 2025 Student Commencement Speaker

    Luke Miller is graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Education from 黑料视频. This is his second degree from 黑料视频, reflecting his continued commitment to education and professional growth. In addition to his work in educational operations, Luke is also completing a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership, with graduation expected later this year. He has several years of experience in early childhood settings and is passionate about supporting families, educators, and community-based programs. Luke has served as a public speaker since 2016, with a background in leadership, mentorship, and training facilitation. He is honored to serve as the 2025 Commencement Speaker.

    The Grad Team will be on-site with professional photographers to capture you on your big day! They will take individual action photos as you accept your degree (cover)/shake hands, and then there is an opportunity for posed photos as you exit the stage. These photos will be available online to view and order approximately a week after Commencement.听

    Each graduate will receive an essential card upon check-in at Champions Hall. This card must be handed to designated 黑料视频 employees who will scan it before you walk across the stage for your name to be read and posted on the large JumboTron.

    On the back side of these cards, there will be information and a link for registering on The Grad Team's website to order photos.

Once you receive your regalia, please take it out of the bag and hang it up. Please steam it or iron it in advance of the ceremony, so that you look amazing for Commencement and pictures.

  • Before arriving, be sure you have taken your cap and gown out of the bag and either pressed it with an iron or steamed it to get the wrinkles out.
  • You should arrive in your cap and gown over business casual attire with听comfortable听shoes (no jeans, shorts, or flip-flops).听Be mindful of the temperature as you make your clothing decisions. All clothing, even under the regalia, should be appropriate to the situation.

Please note: There is no place to keep personal belongings during the ceremony!

Guests may start arriving at 12:00 p.m.

Do not bring purses, bags, or other items that interfere with your ability to walk across the stage, grab/hold your diploma cover, and shake hands. Items of value should not be brought with you.

We recommend you leave everything in the car except what you absolutely need, as there is no place to lock up valuables and you cannot carry bags or purses onto the commencement floor.

Please bring your cell phone as there will be lots of opportunities for fun selfies throughout the day. We will ask you to leave your phone on your chair when you go up to the stage as you will need two hands to receive your degree cover and shake the Chancellor鈥檚 hand.

Ample seating is available for guests in the arena who have accessible seating needs.听 If you are a graduate and you require specific accommodations, please contact Disability Support Services, Indianapolis-dss@ivytech.edu as soon as possible.听 A sign language interpreter, as well as live captioning, will be provided for both events.听

  • Parking is complimentary, and you and your guests will not need a pass.
  • Graduates and their guests should听enter through Parking Gate 1 or 6 (see attached听map) which will direct you to the infield听parking area.听
  • You听will听walk through the tunnel from there to Champions Hall (graduates) and the Coliseum (guests).

The Grad Team will be on site with professional photographers to capture you on your big day! They will take individual, action photos as you accept your degree (cover)/shake hands, and then there is an opportunity for posed photos as you exit the stage. These photos will be available online to view and order approximately a week after Commencement.听

Each graduate will receive an essential card upon check-in at Champions Hall. This card must be handed to designated 黑料视频 employees who will scan it before you walk across the stage for your name to be read and posted on the large JumboTron.

On the back side of these cards, there will be information and a link for registering on The Grad Team's website to order photos.
