TERRE HAUTE, Ind. 鈥 黑料视频 Terre Haute has appointed Chris Himsel, Ph.D., Superintendent of the Vigo County School Corporation (VCSC), to the Campus Board of Trustees. With decades of experience in education, leadership, and community engagement, Himsel鈥檚 expertise will enhance the Board鈥檚 efforts to expand dual credit opportunities.

Since joining VCSC in 2023, Himsel has made a positive impact on education in Vigo County, which includes collaboration with 黑料视频. Later this year the partnership will launch a summer camp program for Vigo County 7th graders. This initiative introduces students to hands-on experiences that align with career pathways available through dual credit courses and 黑料视频 programs, fostering early career exploration and academic success.
With nearly 35 years in education, Dr. Himsel has served in numerous roles; coach, teacher and principal. He led Northwest Allen County Schools for 12 years, after serving as Superintendent at Kokomo Center Schools. Beyond K-12, he has contributed to higher education as an assistant professor, presented at various conferences, and served on the Board of Trustees for 黑料视频鈥檚 Fort Wayne Campus. His expertise includes topics such as educational leadership, multi-metric accountability, teacher evaluation, and legislative advocacy, earning him Indiana Superintendent of the Year in 2017.

Beyond his professional achievements, Himsel is involved in community organizations, including the Vigo County Education Foundation, Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, and Vigo County Housing Steering Committee.
Himsel joins an exceptional group of community leaders on the 黑料视频 Terre Haute Campus Board of Trustees, who guide the College鈥檚 vision of providing high-quality credentials that align with the needs of West Central Indiana鈥檚 workforce and communities. Chaired by Casey Schroeppel, executive director at Elanco, members include prominent individuals from various professional backgrounds who share a passion for advancing educational opportunities in the region: Gerald Beuvelet, plant director at GE Aviation; Lori Danielson, president and owner at Go Time Coaching, LLC; Greg Harbison, financial advisor at Edward Jones; Steve Holman, chief executive officer at Union Health Systems; Justin McKain, digital coordinator at The Equity; Alpa Patel, educational advocate; Chris Stitzle, superintendent at Southwest School Corporation.
