Adeife Ajayi's journey from Nigeria to Indianapolis is a testament to her determination and passion for nursing. After transferring from Western Kentucky University to ������Ƶ Indianapolis, Ajayi's excitement for the Nursing Transfer as a Junior Program (TSAP) program is palpable. 

������Ƶ's nursing program is highly regarded both statewide and nationally, particularly for its excellence in preparing students for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nurses (RN) and their careers in healthcare. ​������Ƶ graduates the highest number of associate-level nurses in the nation. 

Ajayi, 21, moved to Indy in August 2023. Her decision to pursue nursing stems from her long-standing interest in healthcare—a passion that began with dreams of becoming a doctor and evolved into a commitment to nursing not only due to the practicalities of cost and time but also because of a potentially life-altering incident she witnessed her father experience. 

"My dad got into an accident some years ago, and he almost got his leg … almost had to get it amputated. So we were in the hospital a lot, and while I was younger, I remembered looking at all these health professionals and the nurses and how they cared for him. And I was like, 'OK, I wanna be like that. I want to help,’” Ajayi said. 

Her enthusiasm for learning and making connections is evident in her words and actions. Ajayi’s , sharing her excitement about being accepted into ������Ƶ’s nursing program, quickly garnered attention, amassing over 4,000 views. For Ajayi, the video was more than just a celebration—it was a way to reach out to others who might be in the same position she once was: searching for guidance and connection in an unfamiliar environment.

"I kept searching everywhere for other people's experiences and couldn’t find any," Ajayi said. "I figured there would be other students like me who needed someone in that position." 

This realization led her to consider transforming her social media presence into a grassroots resource for future ������Ƶ nursing students—a place where they could find the support and advice she once sought.

Ajayi’s video also opened doors to new friendships. She was contacted by another nursing student who lives just minutes away, and they have since become friends. This connection is just the beginning for Ajayi, who looks forward to forming a community with her peers and making the most of her time at ������Ƶ.

As she prepares to start the program, Ajayi is eager to dive into the nursing student experiences and hands-on learning that await her.

"I'm looking forward to clinical and going to the hospital," she said. "I like the practical aspects, so I'm most excited about that."

Despite the challenges she anticipates, such as financial constraints and the balancing act between work and studies, Ajayi is determined to excel. Her long-term goal is to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), a path that she knows will require hard work but one she is fully committed to.

As Ajayi steps into her role as a nursing student at ������Ƶ Indianapolis, she does so with a heart full of hope, ready to embrace every opportunity and overcome every obstacle.
