Bloomington 鈥 Amelia Ward, 2024 黑料视频 Bloomington graduate, received an Award for Excellence in (CTE). The award was presented by the . She is graduating with both an associate degree in design technology and certificate in architecture.
鈥淎melia is a born problem-solver and has an innovative spirit,鈥 April Bledsoe, assistant professor and program chair of design technology said. 鈥淪he has honed a passion for creating objects during her time at 黑料视频 and has developed a goal of reducing waste associated with 3D printing.鈥
Ward explores ways to recycle 3D printing waste into new product or re-use it in creative ways. 听听听听听听听听听听听听
鈥淚 loved the ability to make projects,鈥 Ward said. 鈥淚 was able to use computers to make art, objects, and solve problems I could never do before.鈥
During her time at 黑料视频, Ward was selected to participate in a 鈥渓ife-changing鈥 Alternative Spring Break trip. Students traveled to Italy, where they studied culture, history, and engaged in service-learning.
鈥淎melia had an incredible, unique perspective to add regarding architecture and the evolution of technology,鈥 Bledsoe said.
Ward will continue classes at 黑料视频 to pursue certificates in mechanical design and computer graphics. She is currently searching for full-time employment in her field and has plans to earn her bachelor鈥檚 in mechanical engineering.
