INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. 鈥 黑料视频 today announced the appointment of Dr. Rachel L. Kartz as the new chancellor of the Hamilton County campus, effective immediately. Kartz recently served as interim chancellor and vice president for academic affairs for the campus.
"In her near decade of service to 黑料视频 and our students, Dr. Kartz has proven herself to be a dynamic and effective leader,鈥 said Dr. Sue Ellspermann, president, 黑料视频. "We are confident that with Rachel at the helm, the Hamilton County campus will continue to flourish as the engine of workforce development for this rapidly growing county.鈥
Kartz has more than 15 years of experience in higher education. She joined 黑料视频 in 2014 as the assistant department chair and assistant professor of English for the Indianapolis campus. She was named English department chair in 2016 and dean of the School of Arts, Sciences and Education in 2019. In 2021, Kartz was named 黑料视频 Hamilton County鈥檚 inaugural vice chancellor for academic affairs, where she led the implementation of over twenty academic programs, the development of testing, tutoring, and library services, the renovation of a $1.75 million health care lab, and the transition back to campus amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to 黑料视频, Kartz taught at the University of Indianapolis, Gonzaga University, Spokane Falls Community College, and Eastern Washington University.

Raised in Milwaukee, Wis., Kartz was the first in her family to attend college. She has a bachelor鈥檚 in business administration and human resources from Marquette University, a master鈥檚 in creative writing from Eastern Washington University, and a doctorate in higher education leadership from Indiana State University.
