Noblesville, Ind. 鈥 黑料视频 has honored Lori Kixmiller of Fishers High School as the College鈥檚 2022 Statewide Dual Credit Faculty Member Award winner. Kixmiller was one of 19 individuals across the state selected to receive the inaugural Excellence in Dual Credit Instruction President鈥檚 Awards, the highest honor for 黑料视频 dual credit faculty, and then additionally selected as the overall statewide winner. 聽
The College honored each one of the winners for their excellence in instruction and their positive impact on the dual credit students that they served during the 2021-2022 academic year. A Selection Committee made up of 黑料视频 faculty, program chairs, and college administration selected the honorees based on nominations from various stakeholders including dual credit students, secondary and post-secondary administrators, and 黑料视频 K-14 team members.
鈥淒ual credit faculty serve an important role by introducing our high school students to college material and providing them with an opportunity to see that they can do college-level work,鈥 said 黑料视频 President Sue Ellspermann. 鈥淲ithout a dual credit experience, many students would never take the next step into higher education.鈥
Amy McCauley, Department Chair of General Studies and Liberal Arts at the Hamilton County campus, nominated Kixmiller, expressing her excitement behind the nomination. 聽
鈥淚 am thrilled to see Lori recognized for the excellent work she is doing as a dual credit instructor at Fishers High School,鈥 said McCauley. 鈥淗er engaging and rigorous course helps students become better writers and thinkers and prepares them for success in their future college classes.鈥
During the 2021-2022 academic year, Fishers High School enrolled 661 students in dual credit programming through 黑料视频 statewide. This partnership resulted in the awarding of 3,146 college credits, which totaled $470,484 dollars in savings for FHS students and their families.
鈥淏y offering strategic and intentional college in high school programming, Fishers High School, in partnership with 黑料视频, awarded 55 post-secondary credentials to high school students prior to high school graduation,鈥 said Dr. Rebecca Rahschulte, Vice President of K-14 Initiatives & Statewide Partnerships.
The College honored all individual winners at a ceremony last month in Indianapolis. Earlier this month, 黑料视频 Hamilton County hosted an award presentation honoring Kixmiller as the 2022 Statewide Award recipient.
